Unless the terms of your insurance policy directly stipulate the contractual service that is bound to carry out the repair, the repair can be dealt with at any service that is subject to VAT.

The DEFEND Car Protect mechanical and electrical breakdown warranty or insurance covers sudden and unforeseeable internal mechanical or electrical breakdowns of the covered components of the insured vehicle. A list of covered parts is set out in the relevant Warranty Schedule, which you should check with your dealer before or at the conclusion of the warranty. You will also receive a printed/electronic version of the Warranty Schedule and the General Conditions of Insurance when you take out a DEFEND Car Protect insurance policy.

The seller of second-hand goods is indeed legally liable for defects in the goods, but only for those defects that were evidenced in the goods (vehicle) at the time of sale/acceptance of the goods and which were not brought to the buyer’s attention (hidden defects).
In contrast, a used car warranty protects you against the cost of defects that occur/arise on the vehicle after the vehicle has passed into your ownership.

You don’t actually need the DEFEND Car Protect warranty for the duration of the manufacturer’s warranty. More or less, our warranty programs for new and used vehicles seamlessly follow the manufacturer’s warranty as soon as it expires (by the expiration of the term or by reaching the mileage limit). By entering into the right program early, you can extend your warranty by up to 3 years (approximately the same as the manufacturer’s warranty).

The vehicle must be serviced by the vehicle dealer or an authorised repairer. An authorised repairer is defined as a branded or independent repairer who is able to carry out the servicing tasks in question, provided that the procedures and scope of work prescribed by the car manufacturer are followed and that original or qualitatively equivalent spare parts are used.

DEFEND Car Protect warranties can only be provided by our contractual partners – dealers of new or used vehicles in the Slovak Republic. If you are looking for a vehicle and are interested in DEFEND Car Protect warranty, please contact us and we will check if the dealer is our contractual partner.
DEFEND Car Protect used vehicle warranties can only be taken out on the day of purchase and at the point of sale of the vehicle at our contractual partner.
DEFEND Car Protect warranties for vehicles with an ongoing manufacturer’s warranty can be taken out directly with the selling dealer or one of our cooperating insurance brokers until the end of the 2- or 3-year manufacturer’s warranty, as long as the vehicle has not exceeded the specified mileage limit for entry into the insurance (see Products / Automotive Warranties / Diamond, Crystal).

The DEFEND Car Protect warranty can be taken out as standard for a vehicle registered by the Insured in the Slovak Republic.

The DEFEND Car Protect warranty covers damage incurred in the Slovak Republic and during temporary trips to European countries, except Russia. In the event that your vehicle breaks down abroad and needs to be repaired on site, please contact us immediately so that we can inform you of the correct procedure. In the event of repairs outside the Slovak Republic, the reimbursement of spare parts and labor is limited to the prices and rates charged by the contracted repairer in the Slovak Republic.

It is very difficult to determine the exact amount for which you can get a DEFEND Car Protect warranty, because it depends on many parameters and most of them are chosen by the client. Prices start from as little as EUR 300 per year.

The base rate depends on:

• Warranty Program Type (vehicle qualifies based on age and mileage)
• Vehicle engine capacity

• Insurance period
• Limit km/year
• Limit of insurance benefit
• Deductible
