also known as Special Registration Numbers – Type C
Transit plates for use in Slovakia, also referred to as special registration numbers – type C, can be used for the individual approval of imported motor vehicles from abroad. These plates are intended specifically for the process of registering imported vehicles into the Slovak vehicle registry.
They may be used for purposes such as roadworthiness approval, technical inspection (STK), emissions inspection (EK), vehicle originality check, or for carrying out necessary vehicle repairs before completing the registration process at the district office.
The territorial validity of Slovak transit plates is limited to the Slovak Republic. The price includes Motor Third Party Liability Insurance (MTPL) and the Slovak motorway vignette. A refundable deposit of €100 applies.
Applicable for: passenger cars, trucks, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, trailers, and semi-trailers.

Temporary Transit Plates for Use Abroad
or Plates Intended for Vehicle Import
Transit plates intended for the import of vehicles from abroad—primarily from Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Poland, and other countries (a complete list is available at the bottom of the page)—may only be used for vehicles that have been deregistered and have valid technical and emissions inspections (if required), or for brand new vehicles.
For used vehicles, the following documents must be provided: a deregistered vehicle registration certificate, proof of ownership (invoice or purchase agreement), and valid inspection documents.
For new vehicles, a COC (Certificate of Conformity) and proof of ownership are required.
The transit plates we offer may be used in selected European Union countries. The price includes MTPL (Motor Third Party Liability Insurance) and a Slovak motorway vignette. A refundable deposit of €200 applies.
