Transit plates for use in Slovakia, also referred to as special registration numbers – type C, can be used for the individual approval of imported motor vehicles from abroad. These plates are intended specifically for the process of registering imported vehicles into the Slovak vehicle registry.
They may be used for purposes such as roadworthiness approval, technical inspection (STK), emissions inspection (EK), vehicle originality check, or for carrying out necessary vehicle repairs before completing the registration process at the district office.
The territorial validity of Slovak transit plates is limited to the Slovak Republic. The price includes Motor Third Party Liability Insurance (MTPL) and the Slovak motorway vignette. A refundable deposit of €100 applies.
Applicable for: passenger cars, trucks, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, trailers, and semi-trailers.
Transit plates intended for the import of vehicles from abroad—primarily from Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Poland, and other countries (a complete list is available at the bottom of the page)—may only be used for vehicles that have been deregistered and have valid technical and emissions inspections (if required), or for brand new vehicles.
For used vehicles, the following documents must be provided: a deregistered vehicle registration certificate, proof of ownership (invoice or purchase agreement), and valid inspection documents.
For new vehicles, a COC (Certificate of Conformity) and proof of ownership are required.
The transit plates we offer may be used in selected European Union countries. The price includes MTPL (Motor Third Party Liability Insurance) and a Slovak motorway vignette. A refundable deposit of €200 applies.

To successfully complete the rental of transit plates, it is necessary to provide all required information about the driver and the vehicle. You also need to confirm the terms of use for the transit plates.
When collecting transit plates in person, you pay the fee directly on site before receiving the plates. For courier delivery, payment must be made in advance, before the shipment is sent. In both cases, a receipt protocol is available to ensure transparency throughout the process. A refundable deposit is also required when renting transit plates. For customers in Slovakia (SR), the deposit is 100 EUR, while for European Union (EU) countries, the deposit is 200 EUR.
You can pick up transit plates in person at our branch in Bratislava on the day of your reservation. If you are from Banská Bystrica and the surrounding area, we will deliver them via courier. Delivery on working days is possible as early as the next day. Delivery within Banská Bystrica and surroundings is free of charge. In addition to Slovakia, transit plates can also be sent abroad for a fee.
The rented transit plates will be attached to the vehicle, which you can use for the entire rental period. During this time, the vehicle is fully capable of legal operation according to the validity of the transit plates.
There are two options for returning the plates: in person at our Bratislava branch, or if you are in Banská Bystrica and the surrounding area, we offer free courier pickup directly from your address.

Transit plates can also be used for importing vehicles from abroad. Along with the plates, we provide all the necessary documents, including international certificates, valid insurance within the European Union, and a motorway vignette valid in Slovakia.

The price for transit plates intended for use in Slovakia starts at €10 per day. For longer rental periods, we offer various discounts. Transit plates for use abroad cost €60 for the first day and €20 for each additional started day. A special price list applies to trucks.
The price of renting transit plates includes motor third-party liability insurance (MTPL), which is known as PZP in Slovakia, and the Slovak motorway vignette. This applies for the entire rental period.
